BEE Incorporations has been delivering Conscious Engineering solutions to advance green and healthy indoor spaces globally since 2009 and, as such, it is critical that our offices establish a benchmark for industry standards.

Our Shanghai office is the first WELL Performance Rating project in Asia. The Rating is a roadmap for leveraging building performance and occupant experience data to shift business decisions and organizational culture. This rating illustrates BEE’s success in ensuring a healthy, productive, and safe environment for our employees and clients. As industry leaders, BEE completely redesigned an existing space to implement features that support peoples’ emotional and physical well-being through:

• Biophilic features considering color, light, and materiality
  • A plethora of plants throughout the office and a green wall housing hundreds of plants to reduce carbon footprint & regulate temperature
  • An abundance of natural light to increase mood and productivity
  • Nature-based use of shapes, textures & materials to optimize health
• Curated spaces for nourishment and mind
  • Wellness room designed for quiet time, reflection & recuperation that doubles as a fully equipped nursing room for mothers
  • Food & beverage space offering fresh fruit and purified water
  • Open office layout to foster communication and strengthen team spirit
• Comfort
  • Adjustable standing desks to reduce stress and risk of heart disease whilst burning calories and improving posture
  • Free desk areas granting freedom for team members to move around

In addition, the design and construction of an environmentally conscious commercial interior were critical to us, resulting in our commitment to pursue LEED ID+C Certification. Some of the project’s sustainability highlights include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Installation of a Pure-QiTM filter ceiling system that pulls in the fresh air, keeping pollutants low while decreasing carbon dioxide levels inside
• Placement of BEE Sense - our proprietary real-time, integrated building management platform that collects, organizes, and analyses a project’s performance data in real time, supporting building operations by monitoring:
  • Indoor Health and Wellbeing Risks via RESET’s Viral Index
  • Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) Performance
  • Energy, Water, and GHG Performance
  • ESG-Related Parameters
